## Cvent Overview

Cvent is a leading enterprise event management platform to plan, manage, and execute in-person, virtual, and hybrid events. It provides end-to-end tools for event registration, attendee management, venue sourcing, and payment collection — all within a single platform. Finix integrates with Cvent through the Cybersource payment gateway, enabling merchants to collect event payments and reconcile transaction data within their Cvent environment.

## Integration

### Step 1: Sign up for a Finix Account

To create a Finix account, you can follow our step-by-step [guide](/guides/getting-started/finix-sign-up) or [sign up](https://finix.payments-dashboard.com) directly for a live or sandbox account.

We recommend choosing Direct Merchant as your Customer Type.

### Step 2: Create a Cybersource Gateway Integration

Cybersource Integration
Finix supports Cvent via our Cybersource Gateway integration. Please note that there is an additional fee for using our Cybersource integration.

For more information, please reach out to your Finix point of contact.

1. To create a Cybersource integration, navigate to the Integrations page on your Finix Dashboard.


Cybersource Merchant Integrations
1. Sign up for Cybersource. You can view detailed instructions in our guide, [here](/guides/online-payments/gateway-integration/cybersource#creating-a-cybersource-integration-using-the-dashboard).
2. After accepting the Cybersource invitation email, retrieve the following credentials from the Cybersource Business Center under **Payment Configuration → Key Management** — you'll need these to configure Cvent:
  - **Merchant ID** (also called Organization ID)
  - **REST API Key**

### Step 3: Set Up Your Cvent Environment

Before proceeding, ensure your Cvent environment is ready:

- Active Cvent account with administrator access
- Payment collection enabled on your Cvent account
- Events configured and ready to accept payments


### Step 4: Configure Cybersource in Cvent

Before you proceed, ensure you have:

- Approved Finix Merchant Account
- Cybersource Gateway Integration linked to your Finix Merchant Account
- Cybersource credentials from Step 2


**Generate and Deploy the Security Key**

In the Cybersource Business Center:

1. Select **Transaction Processing**, then click **Next Step**.
2. Select **Simple Order**, then click **Submit**. The security key file will automatically download — the filename will include your Merchant ID.


To verify your Merchant ID is correct, log in to your Cvent account and go to **Admin → Integrations → Merchant Accounts**.

1. Open the downloaded file in a web browser to deploy the key on your system.
2. Open a support case with Cvent and send them the file. This step is required to finalize the connection between Cvent and Cybersource.

## Cvent Transactions

When you run a transaction on Cvent, you'll see it:

- In your Cvent admin under **Reports → Financial Transactions**.
- In the Cybersource Business Center.
- In your Finix Dashboard under **Transactions** → **Payments**.
