# Virtual Terminal Updates

## Surcharging

You can now use surcharging on the Virtual Terminal. Our Virtual Terminal supports surcharging on online and in-person payments via a connected POS Terminal.

Note: Surcharging only works on Credit Cards and if the merchant is enabled for surcharging. To learn more about Surcharging, see our guide [here](/guides/online-payments/payment-features/buyer-charges/card-brand-fees/surcharge-fees).

## Statement Descriptors

On the Virtual Terminal, you can now pass in Custom Statement Descriptors.

These statement descriptors show up on your buyer's bank statement and may help them identify the purchase. Using statement descriptors may lead to less support tickets or chargebacks.

## Device Configuration Overrides

You can now override the device configuration for a specific transaction. This is useful if you need to change the device configuration for a specific transaction. For additional details, see our [Device Configuration Overrides Guide](/guides/in-person-payments/device-capabilities/overrides).
