# Splitting ACH Returns and Disputes

When a buyer disputes a split transaction or an ACH payment is returned, you can now choose how those amounts are distributed across the sellers involved in the original sale.

By default, the primary merchant absorbs the full amount of any dispute or ACH return. You can now optionally enable **proportional distribution**, where the dispute or return amount is split across all participating sellers based on their share of the original transaction — so each seller is responsible for only their portion.
